We are year 5 of our property, year 3 of farming it. Every year we grow as does of responsibility on us on top of us both working full time and being over 50. What you say is a mantra I repeat daily…success is not overnight nor should it be…we’ve learned thru our experiences good and bad and definitely do not have things as they should be or we want them to be. This past year has been difficult with time management, heavy rainfall and heat. Doing something everyday is better than not and asking for strength to continue on with-one step at a time is about all you’ve got somedays. Thank you for you wisdom and inspiration 😊~Ron & Jody

I grew up in the suburbs in Texas and my parents all grew up on a farm. Guess they had enough of that and moved to the city. Only connection I have was going back to east Texas to visit Uncles there. Now fast forward 35 years and I am the one who has moved to the country to go back to what was skipped. Thank you for the great videos! We are learning so much about how to raise live stock (pigs, longhorns, and chickens (meat and laying hens)). Subscribed!

Ha! You think that's bad. The EPA came through our dairy farm in upstate NY last year and tried to shut us down because they found 4 parts per trillion of a chlorate byproduct used in the manufacture of plastics. We don't manufacture plastics..not in the 120 year family history of this farm. But that don't matter one wit to them.. Given they sampled property of ours that isn't used by the dairy operation, we were able to remain open. But they are due to trespass again on our property this year and sample the land we do use for the operation. So not only do they want to shut us down..but even before they do shut us down they have offered to buy our land from us for pennies on the dollar..How GD corrupt is that??

Never reverse the saw while the blade is engaged. That's why your blade jumped off. My guess is it dove because you hit hardware in the log

I wish they had conferences here like the one that all of you had . Arizona once was really big into farming Ranching all types of agriculture but they haven't been for years. They're finally giving homestead in agricultural classes in some high schools and colleges yet there is no support for any of them Unfortunately most of them will have no success unless they do business with a corporate company. Hopefully it changes I believe we should always support our ranchers farmers and our homesteaders.

I can't believe that you are able to get that much for a pig. I sell my butcher pigs for $285 each (buyer pays the butcher fee). I only make about $30 on a pig ( before fuel cost to haul feed and pigs to butcher). I used to sell them for $220 but was losing too much money.

So sad we had to miss the conference, please keep hosting them when you can. Now I have to go buy some new underwear! Blessings

I do not believe anyone should be upset about chickens. Any chicken on another persons property, they are open game.

You forgot to add the hay tedder in your machinery list, it takes you in most cases three days to get it up.

I have a spring and getting water from two springs to connection but from connection to spring box don't seem like getting any water as first pipe connection coming out of spring has no water. We are about 8 " from pipe in spring box that allows the water to come out. Please advise what I need to do.

In Tioga and Bradford County, PA, the Conservation District staff organize the Women in Ag days. Extension agents often present or have a display. Ask your local district, if they put on a program, if you wish to learn. The Conservation Districts also put on ag field days. One of the districts has the meals catered by a local food prep school. So you could suggest that to your planner type, if they want ideas.

At 57,I decided I should've been a farmer,LOL.But not gonna happen.I thoroughly enjoy your videos.I watch another farm channel from NY and your channels are 2 of my 3 favorite channels on UA-cam,SuperTrucker Dan is the other non farm channel in my Top 3.Thank You for just doing what u may think is not exciting.It is to me.

You may be realizing the efficiency of the on-farm store! My cousins have had a butcher shop on their farm for decades started by their grandpa and it's become a mainstay of the community. Business has been very good and sustained the family for a very long time.

It's summer and I'm runnin' around going to festivals, traveling, and visiting friends and relatives in other states, so my viewing has been nil the last several weeks. Imma have to do some viewing catching up. I know it can be discouraging if you put too much faith in numbers. This channel is amazing..They actually Farm to make a living & Share it on UA-cam!..Unfortunately I see a few Channels that want to make money on UA-cam and only have animals to get the Views and then it becomes more of a Petting Zoo!..And eventually becomes Lifestyle of the Rich but farming to get views!!..I appreciate your honesty!..Just remember if people can’t relate to your situation they will move on to something more relatable!!

Your channel is awesome!! I have learned so much. We wanted to get started raising pigs for our family and just sell whatever we don’t need. We bought a couple hogs to keep for breeders last spring. This spring we have 10 baby piglets on the ground. I appreciate you taking the time to teach others about raising animals!!❤

No matter what country you live in farming is hard work, I used to have a UA-cam channel about how farming is different in the Philippines, but I am in a wheelchair now due to a spinal problem but my wife does videos and sometimes she wants to stop also. But I enjoy your videos as they are not just for UA-cam make-believe but true honest farming, keep the videos coming 😊😊
